Is it still useful to have big events like a cirque, a fun faire etc. in the center of a town? Geneva paid a high price to have its centrally located place “plainpalais” renovated to continue to invite these events downtown. But the places are often very ugly, easily dirty and empty looking outside of the spectacles.
So what is the deal? People can walk to the event if they live in the town. But traffic difficulties are already complicated and moving all these animals and gear to the innermost place of a city seems a little bit dusty…
